Making of the Cyber Surgery Room Concept

Here is a breakdown of how Ian Llanas and Cyberdeck Games brainstormed and built the cyber surgery room illustration. Check out Ian’s awesome artwork at

First we started with a conversation about what the room might look like, containing high tech surgery machinery, consoles, and a hard core Matrix style setup. From that Ian drew up the initial sketch.


From there, we talked about the scene some more and then Ian proceeded to building out the scene in 3ds max.


Next, was the lighting setup to capture the mood of the scene.

Then, multiple render passes were done for ambient occlusion, rimlight, and depth.

A main render was achieved and from there Ian worked his photoshop magic to create the stunning final result.
